Mauricette Pinoteau, learnt the technique of relief enamelling at the very famous Atelier Camille Fauré in Limoges during the 70's, under the guidance of masters Alexandre Marty, Pierre Bardy, Lucie Dadat, and Henri Rozier. Mauricette is one of the only two living enamellists that studied with the masters the secret of art of three-dimensional geometric enamel. She continues to produce unique and spectacular vases. The "3D geometric style" also called the "Style Faureacute;” provides a depth of rich color achieved in no other enamelling process. Their crisp edges and thick curves impart a third dimension that defies logic. The varying thickness of colors, opaque in some areas and translucent enough in others to see the drawing on the surface, combine with the swirls of design to create the magic of 3D enamelling. Mauricette Pinoteau made decorative objects and jewellery in a three-dimensional enamel technique, which seems to defy the logic of enamelling. |
