« In her new series of works, Marie-Hélène Amilien has created another world; namely the world of the Women of the Weeping Fish, the weavers, embroiderers and dyers who pay homage to beauty. She uses her chosen technique, enamelling on metal ( copper, silver or steel), to show us her visions in cloisonné pictures and magical objects. The style of her delicate drawings in combination with the transparency of the enamel or the beauty of glass pearls show us her true artistic personality. Marie-Hélène ( 35 ) uses past- and present memories, linking them to her main aesthetic interests, popular arts and textile arts. In doing so she conjures up new horizons, rich in promise, as she shows us the women of her imagination, created during an artist’s residence in Hungary.
