| Passionated by drawing since his childhood, and very patient in creating small objects with his hands, he needed a job, and became mechanic metal-worker. He left Paris in 1975 to settle down in Limoges. One year later, he encountered the world of enamel. He has been employed in workshops in Limoges during five years in order to acquire the technique. In 1981, he launched his own workshop with his wife. This adventure has gone through 22 years in the field of metal-enamel, and it is fascinating: it is a permanent encounter between material and expression. The inspiration is sensitive, intuitive; it can come from the emotion felt at the contact of a mineral landscape, an especially symbolic atmosphere, or related to chance when the eyes and the hands are the ones that guide the creation of the piece. Dominique creates enamel painting plaques and sculptures, associating enamel, metal, wood and stone (slate) at the same time. These creations are illustrations; hours spent in the workshop, looking for a transparency, a contrast in the material, colors. «… I like these peaceful hours spent in the workshop where I forget that time is running … » D.
